Abstract

The article provides a summary of modern literature on a number of etiological, epidemiological, pathogenetic features and clinical course, diagnosis, treatment of Lyme disease, one of the main types of tick-borne borreliosis, as well as an analysis of the patient's medical history observed in clinical practice. As a result of the study of the presented data, along with clinical-anamnestic and epidemiological data, laboratory tests are special importance in the diagnosis and clarification of Lyme disease in modern times. It is important to pay attention to the fact that patients with acute forms of the disease are in endemic areas, forests and parks, where borreliosis is prevalent and the fact of migratory erythema after tick bites. It is also recommended to monitor for clinical signs such as chronic atrophic acrodermatitis and Bannwart syndrome, given the likelihood of disease progression.

Analysis of the literature, as well as the observed clinical case shows that although serological tests used to confirm the diagnosis of borreliosis play an important role, in some cases the identification of the causative agent is not possible due to the high probability of cross-reaction. It is proposed to give preference to the use of immunological methods based on the spectrum fluorescence of antibodies and highly sensitive and specific PCR.
