This article presents data on the efficacy and administration protocols of allergen immunotherapy (AIT) in the treatment of allergic rhinitis. In clinical observations carried out over a two-year period, allergodiagnostic examinations were performed to confirm allergic rhinitis in patients aged 4–18 and 18–40 years. A total of 72 children and 64 adults diagnosed with allergic rhinitis were followed up. The examinations identified sensitization to various inhalant allergens. Concomitant bronchial asthma and bronchial hyperreactivity were noted in approximately 50% of the patients. In patients with allergic rhinitis and concomitant bronchial asthma in whom a stable condition could not be achieved with pharmacological treatment, individualized allergen immunotherapy (SCIT, SLIT) was administered. During treatment, the intensity and frequency of clinical symptoms decreased, and respiratory manifestations resolved. The findings confirm the clinical efficacy of allergen immunotherapy and the importance of an individualized approach.Downloads
