The article presents the results of a study conducted to explore and compare the use of ultrasound examination, shear wave elastography, and magnetic resonance tomography (MRI) in the diagnosis of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and diabetes mellitus. A total of 144 patients with diabetes mellitus and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease were included in the study. 46 people without non-alcoholic fatty liver disease formed the control group. The analysis demonstrated that MRI had the highest sensitivity (98.3%) and specificity (93.3%) for detecting moderate (S2), and severe (S3) steatosis, outperforming other imaging methods. The positive and negative predictive values were 98.3% and 93.3%, respectively.
