The article presents information on a study investigating the dynamics of immune and biochemical parameters following the inclusion of an immunomodulator in the postoperative treatment of patients who underwent surgical treatment for complicated hepatic echinococcosis. The study included 42 patients with exacerbation of hepatic echinococcosis (28 patients in the main group, 14 in the comparison group) and 14 practically healthy individuals. After echinococcectomy, the drug “Imunofan” was added to the treatment regimen of the main group. Biochemical and immunological studies were conducted before and after surgery. The study showed that during the postoperative period, dynamic changes occurred in both biochemical and immunological parameters of patients, and these changes were more clearly noticeable in the group of patients who received the immunofan preparation. Based on the results of the study, the authors recommend the administration of Immunofan preparation (45 mcg, 1 ml daily) intramuscularly for 7-10 days after surgery as part of the complex treatment for patients with complicated hepatic echinococcosis.
