The article presents information about a study conducted to compare the results of radiological, endoscopic, and ultrasonographic examination methods of the upper gastrointestinal tract. The research is based on an analysis of 450 patients undergoing anti-ulcer treatment, among whom chronic duodenal obstruction was identified in 95 cases (21.11%) during a comprehensive diagnostic examination. Ultrasonography of the gastroduodenal and hepatobiliary zones enables the detection of functional disturbances in the duodenum and adjacent organs. If ultrasonographic findings raise suspicion, the results help guide further diagnostic tactics and, in some cases, justify the need for invasive interventions. The findings of ultrasound examinations were compared with endoscopic and radiological results. Based on the study, a rational sequence of diagnostic procedures for patients with gastroduodenal ulcers and coexisting chronic duodenal obstruction was proposed and substantiated: Ultrasonography → Gastroduodenoscopy → Radiological examination.
