ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL STUDY OF THE TREATMENT OF DISEASES OF THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM IN THE GEOBOTANICAL REGION OF AZERBAIJAN NAKHICHEVAN HIGHLANDS

The article provides information about ethnopharmacological studies conducted over 3 years in the Nakhichevan mountain geobotanical territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan. A survey was conducted among 70 respondents related to ethnopharmacological studies of diseases of the digestive system. As a result of the conducted research, the use of 50 plant species belonging to 25 families for the treatment of diseases of the digestive system has been established. The indicators of ethnopharmacological studies of these plants were calculated and their statistical processing was performed. It was found that plants of the Asteraceae, Lamiaceae, Rosaceae, Apiaceae and Fabaceae families are most often used. Most medicinal plants are used mainly in the form of infusions and decoctions. Among the range of medicines used to treat diseases of the digestive system, a small number of herbal remedies have been identified among them. According to the authors, the presented article will be useful in terms of attracting the attention of both medical professionals and the public to herbal medicines. The results obtained prove the relevance of research in the direction of developing new effective drugs for the treatment of diseases of the digestive system from medicinal plants.
