ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL STUDY OF THE TREATMENT OF DISEASES OF THE RESPIRATORY SYSTEM IN THE ZUVAND GEOBOTANICAL TERRITORY OF AZERBAIJAN

The article provides information about ethnopharmacological studies conducted in the geobotanical zone of Zuvand (Diabar) of the Azerbaijan Republic for 3 years. A survey was conducted among 50 respondents, and it was found that people aged 61 years and older have more information about traditional medicine. As a result of ethnopharmacological studies, it was established that 45 plant species belonging to 19 families are used in the treatment of respiratory diseases. The indicators of ethnopharmacological studies of the plants used were calculated and their statistical processing was performed. It has been established that the most commonly used plants are the families Lamiaceae, Asteraceae and Rosaceae. Most medicinal plants are mainly used in the form of infusions and decoctions. Among the parts of medicinal plants used, herbs, fruits, leaves and flowers predominate. According to the authors, the presented article will be useful in terms of attracting the attention of both medical workers and the public to herbal medicines. The results obtained prove the relevance of research towards the development of new and effective remedies from medicinal plants.
