POLYMORBIDITY IN PARKINSON'S DISEASE

The article presents information about a study conducted the population of Baku, to investigate the level of polymorbidity in patients with Parkinson's disease. The study is based on data of 703 patients with Parkinson's disease registered in clinics in Baku in 2019. The frequency of chronic diseases per 100 patients and its average error were calculated by collecting information.
In 29.7±1.7% of patients with Parkinson’s disease no chronic disease was reported. Hypertension was present in 38.1±1.8% of patients with Parkinson's disease, diabetes mellitus in 23.51±1.6% of patients, ischemic heart disease in 8.4±1.0% and cerebrovascular disease in 7.7±1.0%. The presence of 1, 2, 3 or more comorbid diseases in patients with Parkinson's disease was found in 49.6%, 10.6% and 3.4% of patients, respectively. The results of study show the polymorbidity in Parkinson's disease depends on the stage of the disease, its duration, age and gender.
