The aim of the study is to assess the effectiveness of phonophoresis of a mixture of thistle oil and Tambuel oil solution in comprehensive spa therapy for patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
The research included 60 patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. By simple randomization they were divided into 2 groups (30 people each): in the group of comparison (GC) had integrated spa treatment with internal intake of low-mineralized mineral water “Slavyanovskaya”, mineral baths according to the generally accepted method and ultrasound therapy. The patients of the main group had phonophoresis based on a mixture of thistle oil and Tambuel oil solution instead of ultrasound. All the patients at the beginning and at the end of the treatment underwent a standard clinical examination; examination of liver functional state, lipid spectrum, evaluation of hepatic hemodynamics. Evaluation of efficacy revealed a significant (p<0.05) advantage of a therapeutic complex using phyto- and peloid products which showed the improving of functional state of the liver and lipid spectrum of blood and decrease in hepatic insulin resistance. According to the obtained data it was noted that the inclusion of phyto- and peloid products in the spa treatment of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease increases the overall effectiveness by 15% compared to the traditional method.
