The article provides information from research delving into the antimicrobial and antifungal properties of methanol extracts obtained from the herb and root of Gentiana septemfida, G. cruciata, and G. gelida species. The antibacterial and antifungal properties of the extracts were studied first by disk-diffusion method and then by serial dilution method. Notably, microbiological investigations reveal compelling evidence: the root extract of G. gelida exhibits potent activity against Staphylococcus aureus; the herb extract of G. septemfida – against Escherichia coli; both the herb and root extracts of G. septemfida – against Pseudomonas aeruginosa; the herb extract of G. cruciata – activity against Bacillus anthracoides; the root extract of G. gelida – against Kl. pneumoniae bacteria, whilst the root extract of G. cruciata demonstrates antifungal activity toward Candida albicans culture.
