This article reflects the results of the study conducted to carry out the functional comparative evaluation of the complete removable plate prosthesis during the period of adaptation in the orthopaedic treatment of secondary complete adentia with conventional and improved methods.
The study involved 211 patients, 106 (50.2%) men and 105 (49.8%) women, aged 45-59 years, who applied for the orthopaedic treatment of secondary complete adentia with a complete removable plate prosthesis. The functionality of the prosthesis was studied in two groups. The control group applied a well-known conventional method to prepare complete removable plate prosthesis, while the main group applied an improved method. M.D. Korol's clinical criterion was used to evaluate the functionality of complete removable plate prosthesis by applying conventional and improved methods in the adaptation period. On days 7 to 33 of the adaptation period, none of the subgroups of the main group required correction of the upper and lower prosthesis and the functionality of the prosthesis was evaluated as excellent.
