The article provides information about studies conducted to investigate the sonographic signs of endometrial pathologies. The study included 113 pre- and postmenopausal women aged 40 to 65 years. Of these, 78 (69.0%) were premenopausal (Group 1), and 35 (31.0%) were postmenopausal (Group 2). The major symptoms experienced by the patients were abnormal uterine bleeding of varying intensity and duration. The state of the endometrium was assessed according to the IETA (International Endometrial Tumor Analysis Group) criteria. During the examination, endometrial polyps were found in 47 (41.6%) patients, uterine fibroids in 67 (59.3%), and signs of adenomyosis in 26 (23.0%) patients. The sensitivity of ultrasound in diagnosing endometrial pathologies was 72.1%, and the specificity was 87.8%. The results of the study showed that not only the thickness of the endometrium, but also changes in its structure play an important role in ultrasound examination. For active detection of intrauterine pathology, all pre- and postmenopausal patients should undergo screening ultrasound examination.
