Abstract

The article provides information on a study conducted to determine the percentage of circulating progenitor endothelial cells and mononuclear cells in relation to the total number of circulating progenitor endothelial cells in patients with acute B viral hepatitis complicated by nodular polyarteritis. 158 person were examined, 61 of them were found a complications with polyarteritis nodosa, also 97 patients without complications and 30 healthy people were studied. Determination of endothelial progenitor cells was carried out by immunocytochemical method. The amount of progenitor endothelial cells circulating in patients in all the observed groups was not high at all. In patients with mild and moderate acute B virus hepatitis complicated by polyarteritis nodosa disease, these indicators were closely related to each other and did not differ from indicators of healthy persons (P>0,05): respectively 1,4±0,23% and 1,3±0,14%. The amount of progenitor endothelial cells of patients with acute B hepatitis complicated by polyarteritis nodosa were lower several times compare to practical healthy persons and patients without complication, it has been reported that in patients with mild and moderate disease it has been reduced to 1,8 – 1,9 and 2,5 – 2,3 times (Р<0,05). Reducing of amount circulating progenitor endothelial cells in patients with acute B hepatitis complicated by polyarteritis nodosa specially with severe progression with clinical symptoms can be recommend as diagnostic and prognostic indicators of polyarteritis nodosa.
