The article provides information about the research work aimed to evaluate the effect of upper eyelid blepharoplasty on intraocular pressure, corneal astigmatism and peripheral visual field in patients with dermatochalasis. The study assessed intraocular pressure, corneal astigmatism, and peripheral visual field in 36 patients with varying degrees of dermatochalasis before and 1, 2, and 12 weeks after upper blepharoplasty. The change in the values of intraocular pressure, corneal astigmatism and peripheral visual field was determined in accordance with the marginal distance of the reflex of the patients, who were divided into three groups: 1 group (18 patients) ³ 3.5 mm, 2 group (13 patients) 2-3 mm and 3 group (5 patients) < 2 mm.
According to the results of the study, a statistically significant increase in IOP was observed after 1, 2 and 12 weeks in group 3. In patients of this group, 12 weeks after surgery, the increase in corneal astigmatism was 0.85 ± 0.36 (before surgery 0.68 ± 0.39). The peripheral visual field along the upper, upper - external, external and upper - internal meridians increased by 26.1% (p < 0.001), in all three groups, during the postoperative period.
