This article presents the results of a study conducted to examine the current state, developmental trends, and future prospects of perinatal care in Azerbaijan. The study was based on official statistical data covering the period from 2010 to 2024. The analyses demonstrated that, over the past decade, the strengthening of the material and technical infrastructure of obstetric facilities, the implementation of modern neonatal equipment, and the expansion of neonatal screening programmes have resulted in a significant reduction in maternal and neonatal mortality rates. The maternal mortality ratio declined from 33 to 18 per 100,000 live births between 2010 and 2023. Nevertheless, disparities in the accessibility and quality of services across regions, as well as a shortage of qualified personnel in rural areas, persist. The implementation of telemedicine, the integration of digital health solutions, and the uniform application of evidence-based clinical protocols have been identified as priority directions for the further improvement of perinatal care.Downloads
