The article presents the results of a research study conducted to evaluate the properties of obturator prostheses samples. For this purpose, 115 samples, divided into six groups based on the processing method: Group 1 – (control group) included 15 samples of smoothly processed titanium alloy; Group 2 – 20 samples of laser-processed titanium; Group 3 – 20 samples of smoothly processed polyetheretherketone (PEEK); Group 4 – 20 samples of laser-modified PEEK; Group 5 – 20 samples of plasma-processed PEEK; Group 6 – 20 samples of laser- and plasma-processed PEEK. According to the study results, laser-modified titanium and PEEK surfaces resulted in an improved surface compared to unmodified surfaces. The surface roughness of PEEK is clinically acceptable. Plasma treatment of PEEK materials increased the wettability of this polymer.
