The article presents the results of a research study aimed at investigating the emotional cognition and quality of life of students. The study was conducted with 250 students from Azerbaijan Medical University and Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts using the N. Hall test and the SF-36 (Short Form-36) questionnaire. Emotional intelligence was assessed across five core components, with development levels classified as high, medium, and low. Quality of life indicators were determined based on total scores. The analysis revealed that emotional intelligence levels significantly influence students' quality of life indicators, with notable differences observed between students from different universities as well as between male and female students. At both universities, especially among medical students, low levels of skills in emotion regulation, recognition of others' emotions, and motivation were identified. Male students demonstrated higher emotion regulation skills compared to female students (p<0.05). Therefore, the analysis of the data indicates that emotional intelligence has a significant impact on students' quality of life.
