The article presents the results of a study conducted to assess the effect of cytostatics on the regeneration of the urethra wall in an experiment, to study the effectiveness of cytostatics in a clinic for the prevention of recurrence of urethral stricture after its endoscopic correction. An experimental study was carried out using cytostatics for the prevention of cicatricial process in the epithelium of the urethra, after traumatic damage to it, in laboratory animals (Chinchilla rabbits); The effectiveness of submucosal administration of cytostatic in patients with urethral stricture as one of the methods of anti-relapse therapy after internal optical urethrotomy was evaluated. A morphological study of the mucosal preparations of the urter of laboratory animals shows a more gentle character of the regenerative processes in the urethral mucosa with the introduction of cytostatics. The clinical use of cytostatics has reduced the frequency of recurrence of urethral strictures after endoscopic treatment to 1.5-2 times. Thus, experimentally and clinically shown the feasibility of using cytostatic drugs in the complex treatment of urethral stricture.
