Based on the publications of the nineteenth century, an attempt is shown to replace allo- and xenohemotransfusions with intravenous injection of milk for therapeutic purposes. After that, the death of patients immediately after surgery and frequent side effects were revealed, which can be explained by an anaphylactic reaction. It has been established how a wide range of indications for this operation, over the course of half a century, ends with its complete oblivion and the formation of modern nutritionology on its basis.
