Abstract

The article describes the results of a study conducted to investigate the effect of preoperative CA125 levels on the prognosis of patients diagnosed with endometrial cancer. The study was conducted on 217 patients who underwent surgical treatment for endometrial cancer at the AMU Oncology Clinic between 2017 and 2024. Patients were divided into two groups based on their CA125 levels; the first group included 125 patients, and the second group included 42 patients. The clinical and histopathological outcomes and recurrence risks of patients in both groups were compared. The average follow-up period for both groups was 36.95±1.18 months. The average age of the patients was 61.59±0.75, and the average CA125 level was 27.80±37.81 BV/mL. The recurrence risk was higher in the group with high CA125 levels (p=0.025), and the recurrence-free period was shorter (p=0.005). The study found that elevated CA125 levels were associated with an increased risk of recurrence (OR: 3.43, 95% CI 1.13–10.37, p=0.029). Therefore, it was considered that preoperative CA125 levels are useful in determining prognosis and adjuvant treatment decisions.
