The article provides information on the results of ultrasound in the diagnosis of liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma). For this, the results of ultrasound examination of 51 patients with hepatocellular carcinoma were analyzed. In 42 patients, hepatocellular carcinoma was detected by ultrasound at one node, in 4 patients with multiple nodules and in 5 patients with liver cirrhosis.
In the nodular form of hepatocellular carcinoma, a hypoechoic rim (halo) is observed in 73.8% of cases, increased vascularization in 54.8% of cases.
The results of the study make it possible to conclude that, in ultrasonography, hepatocellular carcinoma is more often presented as a single nodular formation of a heterogeneous structure, an indistinct outline, the presence of the hypoechoic rim (halo), moderate or increased vascularization, mainly of the arterial type.
