TALIYSHINSKY ABAS MEHDI OGLY (To the 100th anniversary of his birth)

Abstract

A descendant of the Lenkoran (Talysh) khans, Abas Mehdi Ogly Talyshinsky is the founder of the Ryazan school of fundamental otorhinolaryngology, the founder of the first otorhinolaryngology clinic in Ryazan with a full range of ENT operations, including oncology. He was the first in the Soviet Union to use in his practice the method of general anesthesia for outpatient operations, developed and received a patent for a mouth dilator, which is still in use and bears his name. Professor A.M. Talyshinsky developed a method of surgical treatment of snoring. It was in Ryazan in 1967 that the first such operation in the USSR was carried out.
